“Under the same sky”
The 5 day visit with intense work, improvement of relationships between participants and first ice breaking contact has made us reached to an agreement. After many hours of informal and formal talkings the participants in the meeting held in Mutriku have decided the following:
- We confirm the Gymnazium Uherske-Hradiste as the coordinator of our project.
- The calendar for the next meetings of the project will be:
2008, March 8-13 in Izmir (Turkey), teachers and students.
2008, May 10-15 in Uherske-Hradiste (Czech Republic), teachers and students.
2008, October in Istanbul (Turkey), for teachers.
2009, April or May in Sofia (Bulgaria), for teachers and students.
- A common web site will be set up by the Gymnazium Uherske Hradiste, where the principal objectives and aims of the project will appear. Links to the web pages will be set up by all the other school partners.
- Every school will:
- Choose a constellation and/or a celestial body and research about the mythology related with it. The suggested ones are the Larger Bear and the Moon.
- Choose some celestial body or constellation and invent a new mythology or legend about it. The presentation of this work can be a poster, comic, ppt, etc... that will have to be sent to the common web page.
- Take pictures of the sunset and sunrise in autumn (Nov.-Dec.) and winter (Jan.-Feb.) and with the information about the place, date, time and author will be sent to the GUH to be posted in the common website.
- Prepare a vocabulary with 100 words or short sentences or expressions (15 of which will be related with astronomy) and will be sent to Fatih Lisesi from Istanbul, which will be the coordinator in order to complete a common dictionary with the items translated.
- Students from all the school partners will perform a short text at the next meeting or at the last meeting of this school year. This short text of 8-10 characters, in English, will be chosen by the Sidika Rodop Lisesi. They can accept proposals of the other partners or decide a text themselves.
